Hello World!

My name is David Clifford Jones, and I was born on 25th January 1982. Sole child of Pauline Jones and Clifford Harold Jones. I lived in a quiet street in the suburbs of Surrey and spent a very happy childhood there. I attended the local Primary school (Forresters) and then moved onto Wilson's Grammer School up the road, built on the original London Aerodrome. where I stayed from the age of 11 to 18. It was here that I passed all my GCSE's and continued on to A Level's. Wilson's sparked my interest in technology and I was supported in the building of many projects through the years eventually leading to the building of machines for television combat and competition. I even ran my own Robotic combat event for 3 years called Robots@War.

After my A Levels, I left home and moved to Loughborough, Leicestershire to attend University. I studied Industrial Design & Technology, in the Department of Design & Technology. I studied there for 4 years including a year out placement at Artform International, working as a Junior designer and CAD technician. Once qualified, I then returned to do a PGCE course (teaching qualification) in the Teacher Education Unit. I even left with some letters after my name ... BA (Hons) + DPS, PGCE.

My lasting memory of university however will be the friends that I made whillst I was there, and the fun that I had, especially within the Canoe Club. University is an education in life, not just an education in academicism! (yes I know that's not a word!)

I have moved house 3 more times, and am now living in my own house with Sarah (Jones too!) still in Loughborough. Whillst my mother has moved from Surrey up to Durham. I'm currently working as a teacher of Design & Technology, at Fernwood School, Wollaton, Nottingham teaching some lovely pupils the ways of woods, plastics and electronics. Outside of work, I'm now a member of the local canoe club too, and am an avid canoe polo fan (and rising star!? or not!).

Well, there's a brief synopsis of me!
